Michelle McIntyre: A Letter to My Younger Self

Dear Younger Me,

If I could sit with you now, I’d start by taking your hand — the same hand that has reached for others so many times, always giving, always doing, always trying to hold everything together. I’d tell you to breathe. Not the shallow kind of breath you take when you’re just surviving, but the deep, steady kind that reminds you you’re safe, loved, and exactly where you need to be.

I know how much pain you’re in right now, both physically and emotionally. You’re tired, frustrated, and a little bit lost. You’ve been through more than most people realise, and even though you hide it well behind that brave smile, you often wonder if life will ever feel easy again. You keep searching for purpose, thinking there must be more — some missing piece that will finally make everything make sense.

What you can’t see yet is that the “more” you’re searching for isn’t out there. It’s within you. It always has been.

There will come a moment — quiet and unexpected — when healing energy flows through you for the first time. You’ll feel warmth, light, and peace unlike anything you’ve ever known. That moment will change everything. It won’t just ease your pain; it will awaken a calling that’s been whispering to you for years. That single session will be the beginning of a journey that transforms how you see yourself, how you love, and how you serve others.

You’ll learn that healing isn’t about becoming someone new; it’s about remembering who you were before the world told you to be smaller, quieter, less sensitive. You’ll rediscover your empathy, your intuition, and the quiet inner knowing that guides you better than any external approval ever could. You’ll finally understand that sensitivity isn’t weakness — it’s strength in its purest form.

Please, don’t play small to make others comfortable. Don’t hide yourself to fit in. You were never meant to blend in — you were meant to stand out, to shine, to show others what’s possible when you live from the heart. You are, and always have been, worthy.

You’ll build something beautiful — a life, a practice, and eventually, My Wellness Academy — all from your heart, not from a spreadsheet. You’ll teach others that their intuition is a compass, not a liability. You’ll remind them that healing doesn’t mean fixing what’s broken, but honouring what’s real. You’ll help people who once felt as lost as you do now see that their pain is not their ending, but their beginning.

There will still be doubts, and not every day will feel easy. You’ll face change, surgeries, and heartbreaks that shake your faith — but each challenge will carve you into someone softer, wiser, and stronger. You’ll come to understand that strength isn’t loud or forceful; sometimes it’s the quiet decision to keep showing up for yourself, even when no one else understands.

One day, you’ll look back and realise that every twist in the path had purpose. Every delay was protection. Every heartbreak was redirection. The lessons you’re learning now are shaping the woman who will help others find their light, just as you’re finding yours.

You’ll stop chasing perfection and start choosing peace. You’ll learn to rest without guilt, to say no without apology, and to trust that what’s meant for you will never pass you by. You’ll find joy in the simple things — the warmth of the sun, a quiet cup of tea, the soft snore of a pug at your feet, and the gentle hum of a life that finally feels like your own.

Keep trusting that small, steady voice inside. She’s been right all along. She knows the way.
And she knows that you are enough — exactly as you are.

With love and pride,

Michelle
