Wild – The World’s First 100% Compostable And Biodegradable Refill Deodorant

A new refillable deodorant company is set to disrupt the stagnant industry with the launch of a fresh range of improved scents, that are both vegan-friendly and free from nasties such as aluminium salts, parabens and phthalates. Hoping to revolutionise bathrooms around the globe and meet growing consumer demand for sustainability, the range boasts the world’s first 100% compostable and biodegradable refill packaging, with aluminium holders designed to last for years, rather than weeks.

The average lifespan of a plastic deodorant pack is around 400 years and there are more than 250 million bought in the UK alone every year. Each of these holds a host of unnecessary chemicals that can be bad for your skin and the environment.

The team at www.wearewild.com are committed to bringing their customers the best of the best; after a hugely successful trial product run in 2019, 12 months of hard work and over 25 iterations of its packaging and formulations, Wild is now relaunching globally, with a biodegradable, refillable deodorant that is 100% compostable and available in five new natural fragrances.

Posted straight through consumers’ doors in 100% recyclable packaging, the Wild deodorant refills are available as a one-off purchase or part of a subscription service, where customers will initially receive a case and scent of their choice, with a new set of three refillable fragrances sent automatically every three months.

Whilst a typical plastic deodorant pack has a lifespan of more than 400 years, a Wild refill will fully compost within 6 months and biodegrade within 12, leaving no trace whatsoever of what it once was. As well as being the world’s first 100% compostable and biodegradable refill deodorant, the case is made from sleek aluminium and therefore designed to last for years, as opposed to weeks.

The new fragrances available are Orange Zest, Coconut Dreams, Rose Blush, Mint Fresh and Bergamot Rituals. They are made from essential oils and all free of aluminium salts, parabens and phthalates utilising a range of natural ingredients.

The subscription starter pack, consisting of one case (that lasts a lifetime) and one refill, is available for just £12, whilst the non-subscription trial pack – in which customers get to try three of the available scents – is £25. The subscription service is then delivered in a pack of 3 at £5 per refill, where customers pay just £15 every three months, making Wild great value for money at the same time as being wholly sustainable.

For every deodorant Wild sells, it contributes towards a global tree planting initiative through charity OnAMission. Through the charity, Wild hopes to slow the increasing degradation of climate change, enable the rehabilitation of wildlife and raise awareness for important eco-issues on a global scale. They also commit to being a carbon positive company, offsetting all their omissions.

Wild has already achieved over 10,000 sales in the three-week pre-launch of the new range alone. The brand-new website is now live, meaning that the Wild team are truly ready to shake up the throwaway culture of everyday bathroom products with their own range of natural alternatives.

Freddy Ward, Co-Founder of Wild, commented on the launch:

“We are so excited to be launching our vegan-friendly, sustainable refill deodorant into the UK and beyond. We don’t believe in preaching, but rather aim to inspire, as the power of small habit changes can go a long way. The new collection of scents will definitely have people’s heads turning and hopefully encourage people to come over to the Wild side.”

About The Authors

Wild was founded in 2019 by childhood friends, Freddy Ward and Charlie Bowes-Lyon who are an experienced team based in London but originally born and bred in Scotland. Their range of refillable deodorants are the first of their kind to be 100% compostable and biodegradable.

Their collection includes a range of five new scents that are all free from harsh chemicals such as parabens and aluminium salts that a typical antiperspirant might include. Their refillable deodorant range is just the start of many natural alternative products to come.
